Courtney (she/her/they)

Hello lovelies, I am a (trans)Woman who is still in the process of discovering herself!

I have been working up the courage to be who I am for so long, I am excited to be figuring things out.

Pre-HRT, pre-fashion-sense, and pre-confidence.

Any and all tips and advice from more experienced women are welcome!

  • If a first fix doesn’t succeed, fix it and fix it and fix it and fix it… You get the idea.

My small 4in fan I take hammocking with me had the charging port break on me and while I have the soldering station to fix it, I hate soldering tiny pcbs and have just been removing the lipo cell and charging it with my 18650 charger I had made an adapter for awhile back. I basically just stick two ribbon cable pins into the adapter and the other ends go to the appropriate +/- wires on the jst connector to the lipo. Takes about 4x longer than my largest capacity 18650 but it saves me a little annoying soldering.

Also I lost the on button when I was disassembling it so now I just shove my longest nail down into the housing. I COULD print a new one but I’d have to set my printer back up and tune it just for one small piece… I have a piece of paper taped to my printer that I keep writing the things I wasn’t to print and once it gets long enough I’ll set it up, it’s just a lot of work and I don’t have much space.

  • I once worked with 6 Tylers.

Two started working day 1 when the store opened, one got hired around 6 months later, one transferred from another store, one was a manager that came in for training, and the last one was technically his middle name, but he was named after his POS father and decided to go by Tyler.

We had Tyler, Big Tyler (smallest of them), Little Tyler (normal sized), Golf Tyler (absolutely hated golf), Tyler Tyler, and Manager Tyler (two guesses which one that was)

I swear, management made schedules to keep them from being there at the same time. Personally I always thought it was funny when one tyler had to take a customer to another tyler. The exchange usually went something like “well I’m gonna hand you off to Tyler here, my name was Tyler it’s been a pleasure” or something along those lines. They always tried to use their names as much as possible.

  • I drove what should have been a 2 hour trip in 4 hours to see the 2017 one.

I figured “let’s get some lunch, walk around some local parks, and maybe go walk around the local shops for a few hour before trying to go home” because I knew traffic would be bad. I even spent most of an afternoon plotting my course back home to avoid major roads and highways.

Even after 5ish hours, traffic was terrible. Every highway we passed was stopped. People were flooding back roads, it was slow but moving faster than the highways.

12 hours later, I pulled into my driveway and decided next time I ever travel for an eclipse, I’m bringing a tent and staying a few days.

It took some friends if mine 14 hours to get home and they didn’t even leave their state.
