Expired certs are a telling indicator of workplace chaos. This happens when good developers are replaced with much cheaper contractors, and all the shit the original devs did on the side gets lost.

It’s not the contractors’ fault. It’s short-sighted management that piss off good workers who can choose where they want to work.

On the Mac, an expired cert should prevent new installations by default, but for existing installs it shouldn’t have had any effect. Logitech did something wonky here that prevented existing driver installs from working at all.

💯 this. Logitech’s malware isn’t as harmful on macos as on windows, but by god they’re trying

For anyone looking for alternatives, LinearMouse is the best FOSS option (although I couldn’t get it to recognize the thumb button on my Logitech M720 Triathlon so this may extend to the Mx Master line as well)

Alternatively, BetterMouse ($7.99) and SteerMouse ($19.99) are solid options too. Both come with a free trial, 7 days, and 30 days respectively.
