but management just hired a vibe coder to make a larger infrastructure for materials handling… that should work out great

15·2 months agooh my Eru, he’s making a Tom Bombadil feature film!
I don’t think it’s the spice, but rather the inedible slop from that kind of fast “food” chain that greasily slides through intestines and slips out the colon, like a bat out of hell.
well, that’s one memory I thought would stay locked away forever…

12·5 months agodamn, that could have been so good. a series of unusual mysteries and sci-fi stories, all subtly linked to the central macguffin laboratory, or whatever government conspiracy is “behind the whole thing”.
they already have a whole alternate dimension to play with, so it doesn’t need to be contained to a single midwest town. they could set seasons in any part of the world, and make it a huge web, with a hyper local focus with new casts.
the more I think about it, the worse it gets; they had a perfect setup and didn’t go for it.

21·5 months agoa meme was originally used to describe repeated patterns in genetics, and is fundamentally another way to say “mimic,” so we could build an argument for a totally different way to moderate content here.
but the spirit of the community is to showcase the modern internet meme, so I think taking the narrow definition of “new jokes over repeated images” is more appropriate than a literal definition of the word itself.

22·5 months agobut not if it’s a text-only screenshot, like a twitter/tumblr post. the point of the modern “meme” is to be variations on a visual-based theme.
otherwise, it’s just a joke or a comment

I always read ellipses as if the speaker is trailing off in a condescending, disappointed, or sarcastic tone.
“if you think so…”
“that’s a great idea…”
“we definitely need more snacks in the house…”
It doesn’t make me anxious, but it always seems a little rude.
definitely not loss…
…is this gain?

my company made one of these AI apps, and when I signed up I realized there was no email verification.
so, I made a fake user, with fake credentials, and an email that doesn’t even exist, and it worked. oh, and it has default editing permissions, so I was able to change data in it.
it won’t allow the use of an email outside of the company domain, but here’s the kicker: there’s a pop-up notification that tells you what domain to use.
it’s been 3 weeks, and it hasn’t been deleted yet.
