I think the silver lining right now with this new policy is that journalists can’t physically go to the Pentagon for information. They could theoretically confer with sources outside of the building, off hours, in a different country etc. I imagine those leaks will be more scrutinized now.

I wouldn’t do something so rash but if you are prepared to do that then you need to make solid plans for your own arrest. Have all your documentation, tell a friend or someone you trust that you can contact if you get jailed, probably a lawyer ready too. If you’re lucky you won’t get charged and depending on what you do it could be a misdemeanor which won’t totally ruin your life.

This is a great paper that solidifies (no pun intended) the framework that Mars structurally is still similar to earth - a solid inner core composed of mainly O, Fe, S, and C surrounded by a solid mantle. This opens more questions, If the Martian core is still solid, then what events in Mars’ past led to the geomagnetic field collapsing?
