To be honest, those baby on board stickers are pretty dumb. Nobody goes “This car doesn’t have a baby on board, awesome, now I can break check them like a maniac”.
I really expected “Readability” to be there.
This is where the name of Stockholm syndrome comes from. It’s not that you fall in love with your captors, but rather that you fear less for your safety with the captors than with the police getting involved.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I have seen a lot of movies where the Catholic School Nuns smack a students hand for being disruptive or something is this a trope or a real something? Like most notable in Blues Brothers

It’s an ingenious solution.
I wouldn’t, I have broken up with girls over this. But that didn’t mean we couldn’t have some fun.
Is the movie different? I stopped watching after 30 minutes because it was too stupid.
It’s not the ending per se, it’s how rushed it all was. Dany going villain was always projected, especially in the last published book. But it’s the rushing of the storyline and the distinct decline in quality dialogue that made it so bad. The storyline could and should have been fleshed out more with maybe even 2 extra seasons. Instead the seasons were shortened and they tried (and failed miserably) to wrap it up quickly.
As for the dialogue, compare the dialogues of Tyrion and Varys from the first 3 seasons to the last 3 seasons and you will wonder if those are the same characters. They were quick witted and sharp in the first seasons, but in the last 3 it’s all “Hur hur, you don’t have a cock” jokes. And that’s just one of the more obvious flaws. So many story threads had no conclusion, the actions stopped making sense, what should be a multi month voyage is reduced to days, etc, etc, etc…
It will be taught in movie colleges as a warning for decades, if not centuries.

I think this is true, but not the only reason, at least not for me. It’s also the realization that the government has no business trying to regulate every aspect of life and is grossly inefficient at doing that. Which leads to wanting higher efficiency, which translates to less rules and smaller government.
That does not mean a government geared towards companies that would gut social welfare, although that is the common perception. I believe a government can be both efficient and good for the people.
Well, silverlight is something else, but you can run edge in IE mode. That won’t support silverlight, but if it’s for personal use you can use IETab (free for personal use), which does support silverlight. We used it at our company because we had some ancient shit that required silverlight.
I cancelled the license at my company a couple of months ago because we finally decommissioned the old SharePoint on-prem after 3 years of migration.

3·18 days agoI remember reading somewhere you can do this with cruises. When you are on the border UMT -11 and -12, you can have 2 and that leaves you 22 hours to travel to the border of +11 and +12. You might even squeeze an extra celebration out.

Facilitator is actually a pretty decent feature. It works pretty well for recurring meetings with a set agenda. The message shown is not very useful, but the automatic notes and summary are usually fairly good.
