  • As someone with Autism and ADHD which you might call “wholesome” mental health conditions, I can tell you that society might claim to be open to us but it really isn’t very much.

    I’m lucky to have friends who accept me as I am, it might have helped that they knew of what I have before they became my friends. But even with them I cannot be completely myself, just mostly.

    The hardest thing for me in society is that people don’t really understand how we are different, and I think you have the same problem. People just see a person with a condition in a movie and assume that that’s how it must be in reality.

    I hope your friends will be able to understand you better, I wish you luck. Maybe it could help to explain to them how it affects you, so it’s not some condition to them that they are not sure of but very concrete symptoms.
