3·2 years agoThat is very true. This page is a good starting point: https://github.com/plenaryapp/awesome-rss-feeds. It has some interesting feeds, but it is very hard to find things “in the wild” now.

2·2 years agoI am in a similar situation. I did just start using RSS and that has been interesting. Nice to get everything in one spot, with no ads, and it’s specifically what I’m interested in.
Thank you for that article, it is brief, to the point and easy to understand. I will try giving that to people in the future.
Yeah, I tend to like that response, sometimes it works but people seem to think it would never happen here…
Hah, fair enough, most people don’t seem to understand that it is so close to that though.
Yeah, that is the most common response I get. Not quite sure what the best approach to deal with that is.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•My cat(s) likes to sit in front of the space heater?English
3·2 years agoMy cats both like to be near the space heater when its on. So far we haven’t had any trouble with it, but we always stay in the same room and keep an eye on them.
I started using Lemmy a bit before the blackout and all that fun stuff. I was using both before the blackout, then just Lemmy during, and I realized I had a lot more free time and was enjoying the posts on Lemmy more, so I just stayed here full time.

3·2 years agoI love Audiobookshelf for audiobooks, didn’t realize it supported podcasts as well. I will have to look into that, thanks!
I don’t know that you can do it without an extension, however Mozilla has put out an extension called “Firefox Translations” that translates webpages locally on your computer with a downloaded dictionary. So far it works well in my experience, though I don’t know any other languages, so I can’t really speak to its accuracy. That being said, so far I haven’t come across any nonsensical translations.

6·3 years agoI used the trial and then just started paying for it. So far, it is much better results, and I like that they do not track you. Also, their small web lens has been fun to play around with.

I also like nutritional yeast on popcorn. Sometimes i will do curry powder instead.
