Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•There are so many trans babiesEnglish
419·26 days agoWell there are infinite possible genders and thousands already in use, so I think with 2,880-20,160 trans people born each day, the odds are very high.
If by “access” you mean “talk to fellow survivors” and “ask for advice or support”, no.
Reddit has support subreddits for people struggling with mental illness or minority struggles. These are issues kids face, and the government is denying their access, while giving big tech companies excuses to spy on adults.

2·2 months agoThey’re banning it based on wattage? That’s ridiculous. That means a 50kg person can go three times as fast as a 150kg person.
Video game is right. What we experience is a mental construct, and it can be reprogrammed. It already has been reprogrammed by religious groups and media conglomerates to control you. We need to take back that power and become masters of our own universes.

41·5 months agoI sure hope they open up immigration; there are thousands of trans people in the US who need somewhere safe to live, and we’ve boundless plains to share.

2·5 months agoTo be fair, if you’re already on unemployment, queuing up for bread isn’t much of a change. It’s the middle class who do have to sell of their homes that lose the most. If you already have nothing to lose, then nothing changes.

112·5 months agoWages benefit workers. Inflation is affected by everyone’s wealth. When the rich make record profits, inflation rises and our wages fall in value. When wages are increased, inflation rises and rich people’s hoards fall in value. The key to successful economic policy is to raise wages faster than rich people’s hoards can grow, thus making wage growth the primary driver of inflation. When hoard growth is the primary driver of inflation, we get our current situation.
