Having done texturing work, modeling, and a few other art things: swastikas have a tendency to show up anywhere you make a 4-way connection. They show up in a lot of factorio designs for the same reason. It’s just a really simple shape that naturally emerges from grids and offset grids and people like to organize things in grids
