I think I’d enjoy a Sledgehammer! reboot more. The Naked Gun movies (and the 6 Police Squad episodes) are perfect as-is and don’t need a remake, but Sledgehammer! would benefit from a modern update, I feel.
This is not a remake but a reboot. Liam Neeson is really good at deadpan comedy so that part is likely going to remain similar. Lonely Island brand of comedy is the big unknown, I can’t imagine how that’s going to work but I’m curious.
So which NFL Hall of Famer/Future double-murderer did they cast in this one?

Leslie Nielson is dead so the only reboot with regards to the naked gun should be a boot re-entering the ass of whoever had this idea
I probably would never have guessed that Leslie Nielsen would have been so funny, but he sure was. 'Am looking forward to seeing what Liam Neeson can do.
Fuck that. The original was great because of the Zuckers and Leslie Nielsen.
