I’m moving on from a Kindle Oasis and looking at the Boox Go 7 since Boox runs android, but wondering if there is a better option out there?

I have a Boox Go Color 7 and love it! The batter lasts for ever and an android e-ink tablet is wonderful. I haven’t used KOreader on it, but I use it for comics/manga via Kahon (through F-droid) and use the default e-reader app for books.

Oh that’s great to hear thanks. How is the contrast for regular black and white on the Color 7?

It’s great! I suspect the contrast as just as good as the non-color model. I don’t have it in front of me, but IIRC you can also adjust the contrast settings to whatever you need.

I just run KOreader on my Minimal Phone (e-ink android phone). Wouldn’t necessarily recommend it just as an e-reader, though, unless you’re also trying to cut down on screen time or phone-based distractions. But since it’s my daily driver, it’s great for reading since that’s about the only time-waster it’s good at. That, and Sudoku.

I’ve been looking at the Boox Palma but may wait for the Picco I just saw today.

The nice thing about using these smaller devices is that when I pick up my Kobo, it’s like reading on an IMAX screen lol

Just curious about your Oasis, is the hardware dying on you or you don’t like KOReader experience running on Kindle hardware?

Screen cracked! KO actually is pretty nice on Kindle, but the Oasis is also pretty slow so I’m also just kind of browsing the market to see what’s out there.

Will do. The Go 7 looks like the best bet, I considered a used Oasis but I think native android is more appealing.
