      Basically came here to say this. How on earth is this supposed to be seen as ‘neutral’?

      “Oh hey, I’m being neutral by bowing to the wishes of a fascist government!”

    Some of the most marginalized and vulnerable people are being targeted by their own government. “Neutrality” isn’t a respectable thing here, it means stepping out of the fascists way.

    Hopefully their alumni feel “neutral” about giving donations to such a spineless institution.

    Recognizing that other people who are different from you seems pretty fucking neutral to me.

    Defaulting to cishet assumption is pretty one sided.

    There is nothing to be neutral about, it’s people. You either support people or you don’t. I guess the University of Chicago has decided they don’t want to support people, that’s a real damn shame. It’s sad this has been made a such an issue out of nothing. Just let people be.
