The Trews are a staple of the Canadian Alt-Rock/Rock genre. They have been around and consistently active since 1997, and while originating from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, they are noted as now being based from Hamilton, Ontario. Originally their band name was One I’d Trouser, a line lifted from Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life song. The name would later be shorted into just Trouser, and then eventually into The Trews, by 2002. Their first album, perhaps the most popular, is their first studio album produced with the assistance of Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson. With some veteran help, they made *House of Ill Fame) and released it in 2004 to great success – this album is still a classic of the genre. Particularly, the most popular is Not Ready to Go and Tired of Waiting.
