@Skavau Dust Bunny was a fun watch. didn’t expect to see Mads fighting a monster under a little girls bed.

watched the new naked gun. It was basically fine. It was not hilarious throughout but there were like 3 or 4 very funny schticks and humourous throughout. Not bad but not something I would tell people they just have to see it.

Just finished up Pluribus. I really liked Better Call Saul and think Gillian is a good director and story teller. He really has a knack of filming characters doing something utterly mundane, but zoom out or put that into a larger context and you see the true horror of it all. Pluribus does this, but seems to not be saying anything yet. I have a couple of themes I think they are trying to develop, but by the end of the first season, one of them should at least be clear.

So it was a relief when I went back to watch Palm Royale. Its a goofy, soapy show about over the top socialites with a bit of campy musical theater thrown into a mystery show. Despite a number of stars in the show, they always come back to the important characters and conflicts. And I’m super happy to see Allison Janey get quite a bit of the spotlight. She’s really a solid actor.

I’ve been watching His and Hers on Netflix. It’s a murder mystery and drama. It isn’t great, but it’s fun.

I started watching Fallout, but sort of lost interest. The first couple of episodes don’t have the same energy as the first season.

Finished watching The Mighty Nein (Amazon streaming series, American adult cartoon). One season, 8 episodes.

Started or at least continued watching Dandadan (Japanese anime). Watching the second season. Watched the first when it was new (after it got translated to English, at least). I’ll watch anime in Japanese if I’m in a hurry to see it or something, but if it’s any good, it’ll get translated anyway. And then it gets voiced by theatre nerds you can actually meet IRL, and they’re mostly cool people. Some of them even get together in their spare time, play D&D, make a successful podcast out of it, and then make The Mighty Nein. (Critical Role stars Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey met while voicing Roy Mustang and Lust, respectively, in the English translation of Fullmetal Alchemist over 20 years ago, and are married now. Series creator Matt Mercer is also big in voice work. Most of them do video games as well as anime translations.)

How did you like nein? I started the first episode but I was just not in the mood for a show that wants to start in media res and not explain itself and have not bothered going back.

Recently started watching the pitt, it really reminds me of a modern version of ER. Really good characters, good acting and plain old human drama.
