Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Why I Switched to Nobara Linux, and Why You Should TooEnglish
6·2 years agonobara is great! I am on arch now, but for a plug-and-play gaming system it works great. It really feels like a fedora gaming “spin” and honestly I think fedora should try to upstream changes into that kind of distro.

Games@lemmy.world•[Release - PC/Switch] Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Release TrailerEnglish
8·2 years agoPlayed about an hour so far, first impressions are that the game is pretty great. The movement and gameplay is much more modern and dynamic compared to JSR. I love the soundtrack, but you only start with a few songs so try to unlock more quick.
Price is a little steep at 40. But I love the dev team (Lethal League is amazing if you like fighting games) so I’m happy to support them.
I have only played an hour but this does really feel like a JSR successor.

Science@lemmy.ml•LK-99 isn’t a superconductor — how science sleuths solved the mysteryEnglish
31·2 years agoTLDR:
- Meisner effect caused by ferromagnetic impurities, wasn’t actually levitating, just parts of it were repelled by the magnet.
- Extreme change in resistivity at 104.8 degrees C caused by internal copper sulfide molecules, which exhibit a phase change exactly at that temperature.
- a team grew a single crystal version. It’s an insulator.

Programming@programming.dev•You don't hate JIRA, you hate your manager - Derek Jarvis' BlogEnglish
11·2 years agoNah I hate jira because it’s so damn slow to do any action
I’m okay with tickets, it’s the price we pay, but there is a serious lack of “in and out” with jira. As a dev, I want to spend as little time as possible in a software like jira.

2·2 years agoOh for sure it would be way harder to implement. I need a portable ssh terminal and I hate no physical keys on my phone. This seems like a big step up.

ErgoMechKeyboards@lemmy.world•Easily replaceable battery for wireless splits while travelling?English
5·3 years agoWhile it may not be as common as 18650 or especially a AAA. A 14500 battery is as small as an AAA while retaining the same chemistry/voltages of normal lithiums you see used with a nice nano. Could be your best bet if you want small but easier to source/replace. An 18650 is your best bet on availability though, but they are huge compared to what we normally use.
AAA batteries operate at 1.5v nominal, so a nice nano would not be able to be powered by them/it would overcharge it.

2·3 years agoTrue, I think the themes may be controlled per instance as well. But compact mode should be a separate toggle for all themes I agree.
Maybe I’ll cook up a MR to give it a shot.

Thank god they didn’t call it PSP
