Every time someone like this shows up in the news, I write a reminder for myself to alert me a month and a half before that state normally holds their Democratic primaries to look up who’s primarying them and donate to the best one (if there are multiple running against them) until the primary happens.

I used to be able to listen to just about any music, when falling asleep, but my anxiety’s reached a point that even playing the sound of waves is too much commotion and ramps up my adrenaline.
This was calm and unobtrusive enough that it really was just background noise and my brain didn’t keep getting its attention yanked away from drifting off.

I stopped using iTunes around 2012 and I expect its design has changed quite a bit, since then; Banshee was a perfect capture of it, then, and I haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement for Banshee since development halted on it.
Granted, the most important qualities, for me, is for the player to allow tagging within the app. and to rename and organize the files by their tags automatically once those tags have been modified and every Linux developer seems to hate that so my unique requirements seem to largely drive my impediment.

It’s funny: I agree with you but for inverse (sort of) reasons.
The music, for me, is fine; maybe not what I would’ve gone for in the current climate but fairly distinctly Bruce Springsteen and he’s done a lot with simple melodies a good amount of times. Sort of reminds me of “The Line”, off of The Ghost of Tom Joad, or some other stuff he’s done before that I can’t quite place my finger on.
It’s those lyrics; when I heard he wrote it so quickly, I was kinda like, “Yeah; this certainly feels rushed…” Especially from the artist where the writing is, generally, the most outstanding part of any song he does. I could be wrong as I’m mostly going off of my first impression but it just feels massively less inpactful than his past work. Like he slapped lyrics together so quickly that they don’t even properly fit the tune of the song (that moment in the first verse where he stretches “story” out into three syllables kills me).
