No no, from the full article it seems they are building (again) a database of people’s biometrics. They are kept in the app, but from an early analysis it looks like there is a client-server mechanism to “pull” biometric information to your phone and start recognizing people with your glasses. I guess only time will tell how they will implement it, and if there will be enough pressure again to have them remove this terrible functionality.

It seems that the code is in the specific app for the glasses. Another very relevant passage:

It could also be a linguistic barrier. If the singer is from the same country, they could get away with shouting “all girls scream”, but they still risk not being understood by parts of the audience… When I’ve experienced it it was always visual, either it would be two different singers in charge of their own “area” of the public, or the singer would “move” right/left and “mimic” the specific part of the audience to scream (sorry English is not my native language so I’m not sure how to convey this…)
Am in Europe. The very few times I’ve seen them ask part of the audience to shout was a left/right thing where people sitting on the left wing were being put to compete with ones on the right wing to see who shouts more. But even that was very very rare.
Maybe I just live in an unfun part of Europe?

Technology will catch up. Batteries today have a capacity of around 250w/kg, but in the lab they are already 400-500w/kg. At some point “range anxiety” stops being a real issue, and then you don’t need to cram as many batteries as you can anymore, and you focus on optimizing what you already have.
Everything else in an electric car is already more compact than an ice equivalent.
That’s apparently extremely hard in the era of SUVs and huge tablet displays… At least for the second there is some pushback
As an owner of an ID3, it’s a great car. But I also find it very expensive, especially if you are looking for things that I would now consider basic (like the rear camera, that is optional on a minimum 30k€ car). And don’t get me started that you have to pay to “unlock” more HP on your car (that is just a small piece of software).

I mean, whole milk is 62 kcal per 100ml, plain yoghurt is 66 and berries are another 60… So for a glass of smoothie (I would assume around 20cl), it’s quite realistic for it to be maximum 150 kcal, even accounting for some sugar to sweeten it…

AI (or what we call AI currently) is definitely capable of making decision it wasn’t trained for, it’s the whole reason why LLM are so effective, they learned enough patterns about how humans think and react, that they can apply it to other situations.
Now, if you talk about RELIABLY making decisions then I definitely agree with you. They can’t even be reliable with stuff they extensively saw in training, when you get out of the “confort zone” the odds of it taking the correct decision drops fast.
But with AI companies trying to get as much data as they can from their workers and from common people, and with the scary new trend of smart glasses (even though I’m a fan of augmented reality as a concept) we will see how things evolve…

While I cannot agree on having to prove your identity online, this is ON PAPER better than what individual governments are doing right now (from what I know, I may be wrong though). I still don’t like it and think it’s a bad idea in general, but if EU countries are going to implement it in any case, at least it’s better to have something that protects your anonymity both ways (the government cannot see and track what your are visiting, and the sites cannot see and track your identity).
BUT, this is in paper. We will have to see the actual implementation.
And I would much rather not have anything like this (but good luck with all the far right parties that are being pushed right now…).
