Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What a joke, can't believe people still voluntarily use this OS
6·6 hours agoExcept the code covers SUCH a vague issue that it’s useless. Not very precise when any issue with the store gives you the same code. Maybe it couldn’t find a DNS record for the online store. Maybe its local db is corrupt. Maybe it’s been locked out administratively. Doesn’t matter which root cause, same error code, so it’s not a “precise” error code.
These may not be the case in this instance, but in many, many other instances, it sure has been

3·5 days agoHell yes. HDR is awesome when it works well, and I’d love to see actual HDR photography take off (not the weird contrast enhancement type stuff that exploded years ago). Coupled with wide gamut, most of our displays are not being utilized anywhere near their real capacity.
Complicates the hell out of color management though

The closest thing to a solution now is secession and that basically means civil war. It’s not giving up to recognize that the American people have already lost, immensely.
It’s also pretty reductionist to frame this as a voter apathy issue. “Well if people cared more…” No. When we’re talking about the USA we’re talking systemic failures of our systems. Mandatory voting has been around for centuries at this point, any party could have stood behind that but didn’t. For as long as most of us have been alive the US system has been disenfranchising and blocking voters. Don’t tell me it’s apathy that got trump elected the second time. It’s a system that failed.

51·22 days agoHave you never had a medicine bottle that you needed to get a fingernail under a tiny tab to unstick some adhesive to get to the dosage? Do you think everyone who doesn’t have fingernails should just have to guess? Do you think everyone with vision impairment should NEED assistance to find the number of fucking Advil to take? Give me a break.
Make it so the directions are clearly visible without extra steps.

3·22 days agoYes, but CLEARLY VISIBLE WITHOUT EXTRA STEPS. I shouldn’t have to unstick/restick hidden bullshit just to find out how many pills to take. You know like how fire exits need to have single-step door openings?

12·22 days agoThe point is, it would be better for stupid people if the dosing was clearly and immediately labeled without needing more action than just looking at the bottle. I shouldn’t be fiddling with resealable adhesive on the instruction booklet to see “adults: take 2”
https://youtu.be/WEQ0l_m3Xm0 this, I think, is more of the joke

Considering the 2nd amendment has already been trampled, protesters can no longer reasonably open or concealed carry firearms. I know I wouldn’t want to be unarmed anywhere near an ICE agent but showing up with a rifle on my back would be illegal, brandishing, and I’d be instakilled before I got anywhere near a protest. Not much good to anyone.
Thanks to the racists that shut down the black Panthers and neutered the 2nd amendment, it is exceptionally difficult to defend yourself while peacefully assembling.
In other words, yes, the upper panel is correct, the 2nd amendment should be upheld and we should be able to bear arms in these protests. The lower panel is also correct in that it has not been upheld and we are now not able to defend ourselves as effectively against tyranny.
