Just wanted to say good luck with studies! Russian is tricky but I think in conversation people tend to be very forgiving of mistakes. I’m thinking also maybe watching films in Russian might help with learning how to pronounce words. There’s lots of Soviet films available on YouTube.

1. Im not sure I agree with your definitions of communist and socialist sectors, since a socialist mode of production already means a focus on use value. So the definition of a communist sector is redundant.
2. “When looking at the USSR, it had basically no capitalist sector” - depends on time period!
3. “Denmark and the UK both had small communist sectors in things like their healthcare.” - is a regulated capitalist sector really equivalent to a socialist sector?
4. “We simply state that unless there is a DotP established, the capitalist sector will erode them away.” - I would also argue that without a DotP, the socialist sector is always subservient to (the booms and busts) of the capitalist one

All the parks really. Muzeon and Gorky are my favs and you could spend a whole day there, lots of places to relax, to see the museums or to have a meal. Vorob’yevy Gory is also really nice, but it’s a bit of a hike because of the hills. GES-2 is an excellent museum and has a cool design because its built inside of an old power station.

Yeah I get that. People who consume western media often have skewed views of the world/imperialism (I did too at some point). But I do think that right now it’s easier than ever to point out west’s hypocrisy.

Also consider that there may be people (perhaps like yourself) who don’t agree but just don’t speak up.

My thoughts exactly. I don’t think you are going to find people who walk around with a red star pin on campus (I do but im a weirdo), but @SpaceDogs@lemmygrad.ml can definitely find people who are more sympathetic to socialist ideas. I find anti-imperialism to be a very good topic for that for instance. Maybe i’m optimistic about Canada but I’ve met socialists in the most conservative areas of the US, so anything is possible.

So many liberals will say Marxism/leftism is fringe in order to discredit it. I mean that’s how they get you, by making you feel alone and powerless! Don’t buy into that and keep your chin up!!!
