The main problem with IRC is that it isn’t asynchron, like I can write something now and a friends only comes only tomorrow to check up on me messages.
I mean yes there are/were bouncers when I last used irc but if I remember correctly that’s just not the same…
From my understanding it only adds an layer in front of your IBAN (either phone number or mail address). There are no additional features (like buyer protection) cause they aren’t an payment processor themselves, it’s only normal bank transfers (Echtzeitüberweisungen).
Edit: that’s also why banks have to explicitly support it, whereas PayPal just works with any bank.
Adding to that, Wero is trying to change the need for exchanging IBANs to just using phone numbers. Imo this is not a good thing tho but I guess in the current day and age it’s the way to go.
Allegedly there also will be a way to use a mail address but apparently depends on the bank (some banks implement Wero in their normal banking app while others implement it using the Wero app).
But while it’s a nice initiative it’s far from comparative to PayPal for example (things like payment protection etc won’t happen in Wero).
And sometimes you are the external person being invited… And then you’ll need Teams regardless of your own meeting solution…

You couldn’t know how much traffic you saved because you didn’t load the ad. The ad could be 1KB, 1MB or 1GB, but because you didn’t load it you wouldn’t know it’s size. Without knowing it’s size, you wouldn’t be able to calculate the savings.
As mentioned somewhere is in the thread you would have to directly compare two machines visiting the same pages and even then it’s probably only approximate because both machines might get served different ads.
Someone should get the ArchiveTeam onto it (if they aren’t already)

Den geographischen Bereich schränkst du über die Karte rechts ein.
Alternative wäre Syncthing. Damit kannst du auf jedem Gerät Ordner einrichten die dann synchron gehalten werden. Braucht dabei keine Cloud (nextcloud, Google, Dropbox, …), funktioniert dafür aber halt nur wenn mal mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig online sind.
Bei meiner Ikea Spülmaschine ist es so, dass das Eco-Programm einfach nur länger die Spülmaschine zum Trocknen offen hält (die öffnet sich bei mir automatisch) dabei aber auch nur passiv trocknet.
Beim Intensiv-Programm “trocknet” sie keine 10min, beim Eco aber fast eine Stunde. Meine Vermutung ist, dass die Programme eigentlich gleich sind (ggf. bis auf die Temperatur vllt) und nur die Trocknungszeit unterschiedlich ist um einen langen Zeitraum zu haben in dem die Maschine fast keinen Strom verbraucht aber noch an ist.
