I think it’s more that there’s not political pressure on this weird fetish horror game no one’s heard much of, as opposed to extreme political pressure from China on selling games from Red Candle Studios. I bet if the info about the background of why this game was banned on Steam got wide circulation, esp on mainstream news, they’d backpedal on this real quick.

In my opinion, base FFXIV A Realm Reborn is already a good game. The first expansion, Heavensward, takes it to great. Stormblood goes back to good. Shadowbringers and Endwalker together are the best Final Fantasy I’ve played, though other people don’t like Endwalker as much as me. I haven’t played Dawntrail since Endwalker is a clear endpoint for the story.

edit: heck, they just caught someone recently intentionally putting lead in applesauce cinnamon that was used in applesauce, which has been used off and on as a sweetener since at least ancient rome, where a bunch of people went crazy and died from consuming a sweetener made by boiling grapes in lead pots
