That makes sense, thank you! I wasn’t really thinking about managing “internal” computers, only in terms of “you must use this specific software on your (personal) computer”, which clearly ignores huge parts of the issue.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this is such great detail! You’ve made it crystal clear 😊👌

I assume there’s an implicit /s here 😅

At this point I’m starting to wonder if Microsoft is paying Adobe to not work on Linux. For most people I know, Adobe is the main reason for not switching.

Honestly (and probably naïvely), what exactly is it that Windows can do that you couldn’t do on another OS? Why would a school need to force such a retarded requirement?
I enjoyed the video.
I have some ~20 years casual experience working with Rhino, but never working truly parametrically, and never got around to learning Grasshopper.
Having watched this, I’m honestly considering giving FreeCAD a spin, and I don’t think that would have been the case if you’d linked to the article. So thanks for that! 😊 👌

Constructions workers, or people in business: who is right in this scene? The teacher, or Rodney Dangerfield?
Leaving this here in the hope that it will save someone else 3 literal minutes of trying to parse the title 🫣

I tried the same and must admit I got frustrated with SearXNG. The lack of customization is really frustrating, or maybe too difficult to find if it’s there.

Which is how? Had same experience, tried it for a few days and went back pretty much instantly.

The logic in my joke is severely flawed, and intentionally so, for comedic effect. Contrary to popular belief, it’s actually quite difficult to marry a close blood relative, even south of the Mason-Dixon line, which is why most conservatives prefer cohabitation.

Seems to me that if your birth name and married name match, this will disproportionately favor people who marry their siblings or other relatives. I wonder what political leaning that particular segment has 🤔
Don’t forget about future models — that crowd likes 'em young, I hear 🫤

Finally managed to have a go at a new collection, and think I ended up with a setup that isn’t all that bad 😊
All in all, I think I’ve got everything a bit under control this time around 😊
Now I just need to remember to get the backup situation under control … 🫣
Again, thanks for your help! ❤️

Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll give it another go, see if I can make it work 👍
I was using Symfonium as my client on Android, maybe that was part of the problem.
I used Beets for processing/tagging, which was also troublesome; never could get it to do anything on its own, had to manually initiate every session, and lots of stuff needed handholding to get tagged correctly. Never could get Picard to work at all, neither in Docker nor on my desktop.

I managed to get a pretty decent collection going, accessed through Navidrome and have to admit I wasn’t a fan. Artwork missing, multiple profiles for the same artists, the inability to remove albums that were no longer on the server. The whole thing just felt like a struggle.
Then the disk my collection was on kicked the bucket, and hadn’t gotten around to setting up backup, so I’m starting over from scratch 😅
Bit miffed Navi is still what people are recommending 😔
Not sure if it fits in your setup, but I’m accomplishing what you’re looking for (myservice.mydomain.com) with self-hosted AdGuard and DNS rewrites (send URL X to IP Y), and then just point the router to AdGuard DNS.
The few services I need to access from outside my home LAN run through Tailscale on my laptop or phone, so no services are publicly exposed.
