Yup. I agree. Immutable distros save me from myself and endless tweaking. I have it on my gaming laptop and my gaming desktop. I’ll be throwing it on my wife’s gaming desktop soon enough.

News@lemmy.world•Gunshots fired into Florida home, killing 12-year-old
21·3 years agoTeenagers are still children. They don’t have developed brains. Also take into account that teenagers are growing up more slowly than they did in the past. It is not disingenuous to put them together in the same statistic.
Commenter below mentions that the statistic used is Americans under the age of 18. They are not adults mentally or legally. They are children.

Android@lemmy.world•How does everyone feel about Google Pixel phones?English
4·3 years agoAre you using wireless or USB? Mine is extremely finicky and I have to swap cables often. It’ll charge, but stop connecting to Android Auto.
It only gets down to like 40-50⁰ where I live. I drove an hour north to my buddy’s house and took the fam to spend some time in the snow.
Or I could drive 2 hours to the ocean.
You are missing out on all the state parks, beaches, lakes, rivers, mountains, snow, etc. We have it all. Every type of environment is only a few hours for me to get there.

The core files are read-only. You can layer new system applications, but it’s not as easy as just installing a package. Most things are handled via Flatpaks. So the base is solid and you can’t do much to really ruin the stability.
There is a learning curve, as it’s different than normal distros.
Here is a decent read up on it: https://www.linuxnest.com/what-is-an-immutable-distro
