I don’t quite understand, Scotland and Wales already aren’t part of the common market. By seceding from the UK, they might actually have an easier time joining the common market and strengthening the EU, which is the real unified power block.

I’m not an authority by any means, but checking the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s “94 Calls to Action” might be a good place to start.

I’m a teacher, so I have a lot I can personally do in this regard, but other professions might be different.

It’s interesting to me that his team titled the video “Forward Guidance,” because it’s the same phrasing central banks use. Central banks tend to put out forward guidance on rate policy every quarter in a similar way. Carney is very much a central banker, even now as PM.

I suspect all it takes is a small handful of power hungry individuals.

The call to action for their product, “protect your identity now,” makes me extremely suspicious of the entire thing.

Just because they operate out of China, that doesn’t make them anti-capitalist. Frankly, despite its name, China has a capitalist economy, just with much stronger authoritarianism than most.

Everybody I knew cared when Trump changed the Gulf of Mexico in US documents. Believe me or not, but it’s possible to care about both issues. Let’s work together, we clearly want the same thing here.

To be fair, one of the big trade issues the US is mad about in the auto industry is Canada allowing Chinese EVs into their market. I feel like Canada is fighting for EVs (less so now with Carney), we just have a giant thorn stabbing us in the side.

What are we supposed to do, not defend ourselves? China isn’t making annexation threats against Canada. They’re terrible on human rights records, but they’re less overtly dangerous to Canada than the U.S. is with sharing a border. I can’t see any future where China tries to annex Canada.

I saw a truck the other day with a “fuck Trudeau” sticker and a “fuck Karney[sic]” sticker beside each other. I couldn’t help but wonder if they actually followed politics, because the two have very different ideas of policy and governance. That kind of blind hate is so problematic for our politics… if you’re going to dislike somebody, at least have a good reason!

I’m broadly against Carney for a number of reasons, but agree, today he absolutely made the right call.
