Alright, this is a fun rabbit hole. So, we have a ton of Fellini movies, 8½ being one I actually heard of (and might even watch one day I have patience for subtitles again). That led me to Marcello Mastroianni, who has an extensive catalogue and seems to be a big thing (he’s also familiar). You might as well look through Sophia Lauren’s earlier works as well.
If newer ones are also in the run, I’d personally recommend La vita è bella, and just generally Roberto Benigni. His segment in Night on Earth is just laugh out loud spectacular.
