citizen67@lemmy.worldMtoVaping@lemmy.world•How is vaping treated in your country, at the moment?English
1·3 years agoSadly, Canada is little better. They’ve done an excellent job of vilifying vaping, and most provinces have taxed it so heavily as to discourage it over other tobacco use.
I was a pack a day smoker for more than 20 years, and was finally able to quit with the use of a JUUL. I later transitioned open pod vapes, and then to lower-strength freebase nicotine (20mg/ml). I was fortunate enough to get into DIY before our regulations made it pretty well impractical for mouth-to-lung vapers.

Explain Like I'm Five@lemmy.world•Does Lemmy have moderators? What do they do?English
3·3 years agoOff the top of my head…
- Removing spam
- Reviewing flagged posts and actioning them as needed
- Ensuring that posts follow the community rules
- Organizing events and contests for your userbase, if applicable
It can definitely be a thankless job at times, but also very rewarding to see the community flourish.

Can we please get the 10K char post limit raised to 50K or even 100K chars in v0.18? Many mods are desperate to get their wikis/guides ported from reddit and this has been a showstopping issue.
