Work Reform@lemmy.world•Marvel VFX Workers Vote To Unionize In Historic Hollywood FirstEnglish
1·3 years agoCopy+pasted from another thread:
VFX unionization has been suppressed for decades through a consistent level of FUD and a constant race to the bottom-style system that has been fully supported, encouraged and enforced by the big studio clients.
It’s barely even worth linking that “life after pi” docu-short about Rhythm&Hues at this point, as the same thing has happened again and again since then.
It would be nice if this marks some kind of sea change, but I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•Finally migrated back to Firefox today after a multi year user of Chrome.
3·3 years agoHa, yes that’s what I was concerned about. FF still definitely a better option. Thanks for the explanation!

3·3 years agoRight, but wouldn’t that mean Firefox+uBlock would also stop working for YouTube as well?

Firefox@lemmy.ml•Finally migrated back to Firefox today after a multi year user of Chrome.
3·3 years agoGenuinely curious, and I intend to switch back in the near future, but I’ve also been using chrome for years now with uBlock and YouTube has remained ad-less to this day. Has something changed recently?

Ask Reddit...@lemmit.online•What’s an embarrassing phase you went through?English
1·3 years agoThere was my “hanging-out-with-Ravi-Shankar” phase, followed by the “carbohydrate, sequined-jumpsuit, waking-up-in-a-pool-of-your-own-vomit, bloated-purple-dead-on-a-toilet” phase, the “finding Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny” phase, to name just a few.
Can’t say I’d recommend any of them, in retrospect.
