Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•DMs, which character from your campaign is the most fun to play?
3·3 years agoA pigeon aarakocra, who is a very caring matronly figure. The voice I chose for her is very light and airy and uses a lot of pigeon coos. It’s always a blast to voice her and hear the players’ amusement.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was "The Incident" at work that caused an exodus in the work force?
651·3 years agoBig manager decided that our dept had been not using enough holiday days, so kinda forced all of us to take holiday. Then he got really angry with us that work wasn’t being done and he slashed our budget, meaning we couldn’t afford department essentials, meaning we couldn’t do our basic tasks, so big boss yelled at us even more.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit slowly became filled with hateEnglish
1·3 years agoAnd that few year period when fatpeoplehate was a big subreddit. Or when Pao did something bad as CEO and got a much more personally violent reaction than spez has received lately.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of the best purchases of your life?English
11·3 years agoA rice cooker, and a pair of clip-on earphones that I bought specifically because I like Persona 3, but turned out to be a really good pair.

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•DMs, what are your favorite parts of running this game? Players, what are yours?
6·3 years agoI love creating the bones of a world or a situation, then seeing how the party interpret, contribute, and react to it, then reacting to their decisions for the next session.
Also sometimes, making traps and BBEG plans for them then being able to pull it off (and watching like a proud parent as they successfully get out of the situation)

72·3 years agoLabour is ultimately just Tories with different colour ties. Neither support LGBTQ+ people. Either way, we will suffer.

Books@lemmy.world•What's the last book that unexpectedly blew your mind and why?
1·3 years agoOh neat! Being from the UK, I’d never heard of it before. Is it true what Riker said, about the unfortunate gastrointestinal consequences to consuming kudzu?

2·3 years agoWe Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E Taylor. I’d never before thought that an immortal digital consciousness who can’t stop quoting/referencing 20th century nerd culture and spends decades out in space could be such an entertaining character, or have real, human, compelling stories and worries. The rest of the Bobiverse series isn’t half bad either. The audiobook is particularly well performed.

Malicious Compliance@lemmy.world•Businesses can discriminate against their customers? Alright then...English
165·3 years agoLike their appeals to “basic biology”, when actual basic biology is still trans-supportive.

173·3 years agoProbably. But if they don’t get it here, they’ll find it elsewhere. We shouldn’t change things to mollycoddle people who are constantly seeking a reason to be offended.

¿Porqué no los dos?
