Seconding splatoon. Very kid and adult friendly, and basically no micro transactions (unless you count amiibo). No other game has kept my attention like it has for the last year

cats@lemmy.world•Last night we said goodbye to the Goddess Athena, my 17 year old kitten. She is on Olympus now.
82·2 years agoWe lost our Athena 2 years ago now. I have fond memories of her and how it felt like her name got to her head (definitely felt she should be treated like the goddess of wisdom)

3·2 years agoI just assume your friend watched the video since it was released recently (it was the first video from that channel that I’d seen). That’s so often how “Simpson Moments” can appear in the wild in this way
Their assumption is that the filename is the same otherwise e.g. myNotes20231122.txt

Privacy@lemmy.world•FBI found out who illegally used NSO spyware: It was the FBIEnglish
2·3 years agoIt’s actually especially interesting in the privacy community. You can distinctly observe people who value privacy on the left and right with vastly different concerns who ultimately have the same end goal in mind. I’ve observed a lot of political discourse to be people expressing the same core values where political ideology is simple a difference in where “exceptions” to the core values should lie.

Fediverse@kbin.social•This is why I like the fediverse. People aren’t desperate to be influencers. Found this post on Threads, and it’s sadcringe material.

There’s a perceived correlation between trans women and development roles (especially Linux development and rust devs for some reason). This is also the basis for the programming socks meme
