Those that have were violently oppressed, with them going as far as to send in the military in some cases. Some were detained, others killed, many were injured. Social manipulation and propaganda spun those who did to be cut off from the rest of the country, seen as violent enemies of the common people.

Thing is they didn’t actually open-source it, as stated in other comments. They just released the api documentation. While, yes, it is a step in the correct direction, it is definitely not open-source. Open source would be releasing the source code for all the software involved, which they haven’t done.
Yeah, I have. This set of Mediatek wireless adapters don’t have any support yet despite being out for quite a while. I can’t remember what model it is specifically, will edit the post with that when I get home.
