  • The Xbox version is worthless because of a glitch in the main quest that breaks the game halfway through. PlayStation runs fine, but with some lost frames near cannons for some reason. PC is the priceless version because you can unlock a porn mini game that wasn’t discovered at the time of rating it M; it was recalled since that content should’ve made it rated AO, so the launch M rated PC version is really hard to find. Check the SKU if you spot a PC copy. Not everybody knows, so you might be able to snag it for a few bucks from some unwitting mom on fb marketplace who’s just clearing out her dead son’s room.

  • What?! But we were told that he couldn’t be bought because he already has sooo much money!

Somebody told me that and I countered with “no, the fact that he has billions of dollars and only ever talks about things in terms of money and has no real friends means that the only thing he values is money. Above friendship, above family, above morality, above any flavor of faith. All he has in the world is money, and he thinks himself successful, so he’d sell everything in the world for just a little more.”

  • I’m reminded of how justice is served on the ice in a hockey game. If a player executes an illegal, dangerous hit on another player, especially if the victim is the goalie or a star player, and the refs don’t call shit, then that guy is about to get his ass beat.

There will be consequences, even if the DoJ refuses to act. The heat is rising on this cold civil war. When trump crowns himself head of the fed and slashes interest rates, and when the dollar crashes soon thereafter, shit’s gonna get crazy.

I’m also predicting that somebody high up in this administration refers to America as an “empire” and then a “realm” and possibly just straight up a “reich” within this year.

  • Agreed, but they’ll try to argue that violent protesters could kill thousands of innocent people, so killing them is the morally right thing to do. Here, they’re arguing that Renee Good was a domestic terrorist that was using her vehicle as a weapon to try to kill the ICE guy, even though it’s blatantly obvious that that’s not what was happening in the slightest.

I’m just saying that they’re escalating. They’re hoping that people either stay home because they’re afraid of being executed just for being outside, or retaliate and permit them to escalate further. And even an extreme retaliation will not eradicate the fascism, so I’m not sure what the right move is now that we’re at this point.

  • Renee Good didn’t open fire on police and still didn’t make it to a jury trial. When unarmed, peaceful people are executed as though they’re violent protesters, there’s no longer any real reason to be unarmed, peaceful people.

This federal government wants people to open fire on police. This would justify a further police state, martial law, and cancelling the midterm elections that they’re definitely on pace to lose disastrously. Natural causes is taking its sweet time, but even if it weren’t I don’t think the next guy would change a thing unless his owners told him to.

  • My regular job schedule is rotating 12 hour shifts. We work 3 or 4 days/nights in a row, either 0400 to 1600 or 1600 to 0400, and then get a few days off to flip sleep schedule to do it again on the opposite shift. The benefit to this schedule is that every 4th week, we’re scheduled 7 days off in a row. But because of vacations and callouts, it’s pretty common to have to come in on days off to cover.

We also have two times per year for about 3-8 weeks where everybody would 6 or 7 day weeks. That’s 72 or 84 hours in a week. And because we’re hourly, that’s very good money, but because the cost of living is so high in the area most of us are commuting about an hour each way. So every 12 hour day is roughly 14 hours away from home. So those times of year are really 84 or 98 hours per week away from home, and a week only has 168 hours.

The work itself is also fairly demanding. We don’t just sit at a desk. We are climbing ladders, carrying heavy shit around, shoveling, turning valves, running to respond to alarms, etc. A light day is still a day at the gym.

Despite this, there is an absurd amount of pressure to come in a significant amount more for training or you’ll never get a promotion. And a lot of my coworkers seem to be happy to do that.

Idk what they’re doing with their time outside of work, but it seems like they can’t possibly have time for anything meaningful. I don’t understand the point of chasing money that hard if you don’t give yourself any time to spend it. I keep talking myself out of spending on things I want because I know I won’t actually spend any time enjoying those things, so I’m just sitting on a useless pile of money and working at a place that’s trying to push me into trading even more of my time for even more useless money. And nobody seems to see the problem. I’m glad that my bills are paid and everything, but how the fuck is this different from being a slave that’s housed and fed?

All I do is work and sleep, and I’m expected to work even more, and I’m surrounded by people who think I’m crazy for not pulling 60+ hours every week. That sort of schedule is what somebody who hates their family does, and I happen to like my wife.

  • Others have responded to you with part of what I wanted to bring up, but I also have another aspect to add to the rationale. These nepo babies aren’t just inheriting access and opportunities, but also a wealthy and comfortable upbringing. The child of a multimillionaire actor/musician/athlete not only has the inroads of their parents’ network and reputation, but also access to premium diets, exercise, doctors, schools, coaches, etc AND didn’t have to worry about getting a job at Chipotle or whatever while in high school or right after, and definitely didn’t have to balance that in order to help their family with bills.

It’s a lot easier to get into Hollywood when your parents are already famous, but that really only gets you the auditions. Being able to work on honing your craft for 40+ hours per week without becoming homeless, going hungry, or losing sleep is a motherfucking luxury. I rarely get to practice guitar anymore because my job is so taxing both mentally and physically, so I’ll probably never get better, so access to a producer still wouldn’t really help me to win out over a nepo baby. They could truly be the greatest of their generation because they were able to and encouraged to perfect their skills for their craft without having to spend their time on literally anything else.

  • Considering the lack of value we’re getting in return for these taxes, nah I’m pretty sure everybody should be upset about taxes. Other, better countries may pay more in taxes, but after accounting for the healthcare and worker rights that the taxes get them, they end up with more time and more money than most Americans.

I met a local politician who, in my red area, just seemed like he was dancing around labeling himself a Democrat. The office was for basically money management in the area, and he was talking about optimizing the use of tax funds. I made it clear that I don’t really mind paying this tax rate, and I would even pay more, but only if it starts getting used on shit that matters like building another school because ours are getting overcrowded, and the area is growing whether we prepare or not. I said that even if I only cared about my own finances, that’s an investment that supports growth which would raise my property value, and it would attract new businesses to serve that growing population. Just plan for it so that it doesn’t grow out of control and become a shit hole with stupid intersection infrastructure and urban sprawl.

  • Seems like a regular hat theory to me. Seems like an obvious pipeline from his Miss Teen USA beauty pageants to “industry opportunities” like modeling or access to good agents, and then “I’ve pulled some strings for you and I’ve got you an invitation to an exclusive party full of important people you’ll really benefit from meeting. Just wear this little thing and be one of many pretty girls in the room, enjoying a private party. Show how fun you can be, and then the way will be paved for you. Trust me, I know how these things work. The best thing that can happen for your future is that one of these guys asks to talk privately with you in a room in the back. Just go along with it.”

I would be very surprised if there were evidence that this isn’t what was happening.
