Some time ago I wanted to get my xbox controller to work with Linux Mint. There were no working drivers installed, the drivers from the ‘app store’ (whatever it’s real name may be) didn’t work, the drivers I installed from some github page via the command line did work.

A couple of things that come to mind

• advertise, drop the name here and there, especially on reddit because it is so similar in purpose, also share posts from lemmy with friends
• interact with communities you’re interested in, make sure there’s good content or at least comment, especially in smaller, nicr communities
• improve user experience, Lemmy is slow, especially when loading subscriptions, also posts reappear all the time while scrolling
• more casual content, I don’t want to be confronted with all the horrors going on in the world all the time, sometimes I just want to see something funny, apolitical, etc, something chill

I’m not at all familiar with legalese, but wouldn’t ‘non-exclusive’ in that statement mean that you, and others permitted by you, can redistribute the content as you see fit? Meaning that copying and redistributing reddit content doesn’t necessarily violate reddit’s terms of service but does violate the user’s copyright?

Looks like a little, simple car that’s great for city use. The range isn’t too bad for day to day use. It’s probably only a viable option in European cities though

I don’t get how you come to that conclusion. If you properly read the article you would have seen that the €30k limit is for a subsidy/emission reduction scheme by a governmental organization in Italy bringing the car prize down to €3900. That’s far from pushing the people into debt…

I don’t know what typical ranges are for given kWh, but it’s probably worth noting that it’s quite a lightweight car and that number is for city use, i.e. low speed

This might be true for the top of the line builds, but for any build from budget to just below that Ryzen has been a good and commonly recommended choice for a long time

We have yet to see if it overtrhows the Venezuelan government, so far it appears to be fairly stable without Maduro.

I don’t know if the new ones still live up to the reputation of Gazelle, because I’ve never had to buy a new one. The old ones basically last forever.

I’ll say it again, we have to start pushing in the opposite direction. Some examples:

• Make it a basic right to not have any data about you collected unless strictly necessary for the service delivered.
• Forbid data brokers and any other attempts to combine data from different sources.
• Criminalize data leaks. Financial or medical malpractice can land people in prison or cause them to lose jobs. So should privacy/data malpractice. Note: negligence is a form of malpractice. It should not be possible to get away with a slap on the wrist kind of fine after a major data breach.
• Use the most extreme examples and statistics. Cambridge analytica was at the basis of a major attack on democracy using data from Facebook etc. Both Facebook, Cambridge analytica and benefitting parties should be held accountable in such a case.

One more: criminalize data brokers, make it hard to combine data from different sources, make it impossible for one single entity to have access to all your data and create a complete picture of your life.
