The biggest problem with a censorship proof decentralized social media platform is that the instances without moderation inevitably attract the sorts of people that get banned from everywhere else.
Pardon my ignorance but isn’t that exactly what Inoreader and Feedly do?

Surprised nobody recommended “Overcooked!” It has really fun bite-sized rounds with four player local coop.
EDIT: It’s also $4 on Steam with right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/448510/overcooked/

It seems to have flown under the radar, but it’s very high quality with lots of footage and interviews I’ve never seen before.

What a scoop! thank goodness for the hard hitting in-depth investigative journalism of uh… smart… prix.
Sorry I need to backtrack for a moment. I don’t understand how you’re suggesting right-wing discussion need not be on the “Threadvisere as a whole”? How would that even be possible? It’s an open platform, instances don’t get to control other instances.
When you say the discussions "need not be here" do you mean c/fediverse@lemmy.world? Or all of discuss.online?
As it grows I think it will be much easier to justify a new person or instance in cutting off entire toxic areas and that will only cause it to grow faster.
Right now we all have to weigh the balance between activity and toxicity but eventually we shouldn’t need to make that calculation, we can have “high moderation” and “low moderation” versions of every topic.
Yeah sorry it’s been stuck in mine since I posted it
…Holy cow the conservative Trekkies were right all along…

Holy shit I love LLMs now

With this knee jerk crowd I’m honestly surprised it’s still a positive ratio 🤣
I also believe Frigate actually has a home assistant “app” version so it can be installed right on the same device.

woulda made $200M if it wasn’t woke

(Unless I’ve just been whooshed) Ironically, “The Backrooms” is a movie by and for people who aren’t “big Hollywood people”!
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26657236/
It was made by a YouTuber based on a meme that originated on 4chan ages ago.

Wow that’s huge it seems to be working as desired.

I think it’s a cool idea, there is so much empty engagement for engagement’s sake by a super small handful of accounts that it’s basically just spam. I can’t imagine someone checking out the fediverse is going to see endless feed old memes and decide this is superior to reddit in any way.
Not all of us want an endless content feed, I like slower social media with more thoughtful and respectful discussions and I like seeing developers that understand that and try to bake it in.
This is just more “if a company isn’t growing faster than the S&P500 it’s literally dying” logic.
I have no love for Zuck or Meta but if reality means anything then their stock price is still ridiculously inflated.
