The problem is: The letter of the law means nothing to them. Consequences vanished the moment they stacked the supreme court because asking a Republican Congress to hold a Republican candidate accountable would be like asking Exxon Mobil to police itself.
That’s why midterms are VERY important.
Sure glad they stopped those forever wars!

I guess that’s one way to get a carbon tax

Yeah, midterm elections are coming up and he knows if he doesn’t it will be a bloodbath.
Conservatives never win on their policy, they win on how aggressively they can restrict voting.

Rent was mostly caused by us dropping the ball on building new housing and not zoning properly so the only profitable things to build were massive single family homes or complexes with huge amounts of parking which obviously required a lot of land.
Immigration is just a tiny piece of an interlocking puzzle.

I’m just surprised their articulating it that way because it make this a war of conquest in no uncertain terms, all while they’ve been trying to soften their language by using words like “mission” and “operation” makes it all the more disgusting.

How can you unconditionally surrender a war you didn’t start. Makes this a war of conquest and the fact that Congress is rolling over on it is disgusting.
Every vote to continue should have the Congress person tried for treason.

Sorry, they don’t measure the economy for people like you and I anymore. The economy, much like credit has been a measure of how well they’re managing to exploit us.
We’re just the cattle.

Unconditional surrender of what exactly?

Into the eyeballs it goes!

Congress failing to present a barrier to this illegal war was a dereliction of their duty to the Constitution and by extension the American people.
Even if they agree with this war it needs to be approved by Congress so that the declaration of war and the actions of the government can be debated and held accountable.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to educate others. This is something I would not have understood without it.

If the courts or Congress want to have an opinion on the matter they need to start having some teeth.
You cannot appeal to reason and law with the delusional and lawless.
Even a opt-in question during set up would be acceptable

A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer. From Saturday morning through Monday night, more than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF). The complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations, the MRFF told me Monday night.
Gog and Magog all over again I guess. How many times is it now? At least twice, you think Christians would realize they’ve seen this one before.
Hegseth has been working overtime to normalize it, recruitment videos pairing the Lord’s Prayer with fighter jets. christian nationalism has always been part of the military but it’s a prereq now.
Mikey Weinstein from MRFF puts it bluntly: “Hegseth makes it clear, ‘Here’s the template that we want.’ That fully encourages one of those Christian nationalists, commanders and members of the chain of command—whether they believe it or not. They know it’s a way to get ahead, to try to rationalize [the mission]”
So when a commander stands in front of troops and says Trump is “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran,” they’re not operating in a vacuum. They’ve watched their Secretary of War do exactly that for months without consequence.
That said, well over 200 complaints across 50+ installations show it’s not isolated to a few weirdos. Hegseth’s project has given them permission to say the quiet part out loud.

The complainants themselves are mostly Christians. They’re not objecting to faith in the military. They’re objecting to commanders using their rank to push specific apocalyptic theology.
Some of these commanders are genuine believers, Some are opportunists but at this point it’s a distinction without a difference, because the result is the same either way: troops being told it’s prophecy.
Considering most of the complaints are from formal briefings, it’s at least rampant in the command structure. Best case? We’re looking at years of investigations, reassignments, and quietly shuffling people out.
The only silver lining is Keg Breath is so uncharismatic that most of the top brass hate him specifically.

Heavily suspected sure, but it would be nice to have proof.

My apologies it wasn’t intended to be condescending.
I should probably clarify that I understand that a lot of things predate Trump, and at the US political apparatus work to defeat through leftist movements.
My only issue is that these things need to be complimentary.

You started out by saying that America wasn’t a democracy, while technically true, is pedantic at best and dismissed the nuance of the original comment.
Then when I point out your lack of nuance and boiled down their argument so you could understand it, you explained it as “pointing out misinformation” and perhaps innocent, it seems like dismissal when taken with the original comment I don’t see how a reasonable individual wouldn’t know they were using it informally to refer to their Congressional system.
That’s awesome that you want people to be involved in activism but activism does not and should not proclude voting for progressive candidates and perpetuating that it’s a lost cause will not win any battles.
And the severity increases with per axle weight
