1·5 months agoLove the look but I gotta say the pages for Desktop and Server are both pretty iffy looking and tend to break the theme. It also appears to be a tad broken for mobile (at least on firefox). Hopefully it gets cleaned up a tad.

4·6 months agoHow does LMDE compare to base Linux Mint? Is it essentially the same as the Ubuntu based version of Mint but just based purely on Debian instead or are there other differences?

2·6 months agoI run it at normal (medium) quality and generally get a consistent 60 fps. Anything above that and it starts to dip into the 40s.

6·6 months agoFarcry Primal. Saw it was on sale recently, so I decided to snag it. It’s not bad so far and a fun setting to mess around in. Works with my linux setup and steam deck.

7·6 months agoOh for sure! It looks like something that came out of the 2010s but it’s definitely a jump over MoinMoin.
If you like the most up to date software but an wasy setup I generally recommend openSUSE Tumbleweed. Its easy to manage, gets the newest software, well supported, and has worked great for boty gaming and hobbiest level programming. Been using it for almost a year eith zero issues.
If you are looking for something more gaming focused and kind of just ready right out of the box, Bazzite is a good call. Its atomic so hard to break, big community so lots of support, and has all the necessary software installed.

8·7 months agoAnother +1 for Tumbleweed. It’s an simple setup, easy to roll back if needed, and has solid tools like Yast that help manage most aspects of your os.
Glad it’s working out so far! It’s been a rock solid distro for me and hopefully it’s the same for you!
I’d personally recommend openSuse Tumbleweed if you are looking for the most up to date software with an easy setup. Been using it for a solid year now for gaming and general use with zero issues.
If you are looking for stability, and a strong gaming focus I would recommend Bazzite. Its stable, comes with everything basically game ready, and is pretty simple. It does come with the cost of less customization but it’s atomic nature makes it really hard to break. It’s solid for general use as well.

I would recommend Linux Mint. Its really simple to work with and basically plug and play. Comes with a solid software selection and built in tools. I personally really like the cinammon and mate editions. Cinnamon has a bit more modern look to it and MATE is a bit more retro.
