*Lobbyists love defunding alternatives. The general population are some mix of “don’t give a shit” and “we need better public transportation.”

I have no choice but to drive for a living (I visit hospice patients in their homes and need to bring too much stuff with me to make public transportation an option even if it were.) Days I’m not working would be much more enjoyable to not have to drive even more.

  • The way it was explained to me -

I’m walking on the roof of a building, carrying my baby. I get the intrusive thought to yeet the baby over the edge. Result - I recognize the horrible thought, causing me to hold the baby tighter and remove us from the roof, thus keeping us both safer.

  • They’re easy reads. Meyer had some interesting ideas and inspirations to write a story, but the depth and quality isn’t quite there. She’s even commented that looking back at the earlier books made her cringe. The other place she suffered is that when publishers got their hands on the first book, she explained she just wanted one follow up book, but they talked her into stretching the story into 4 because they felt it was going to be a hit.

It’s an easy comfort read that doesn’t ask you to look for deeper meanings in the story, it’s all right there for you.

Within the Twilight world, some humans have special abilities which are highlighted and enhanced if they become vampires. He couldn’t read Bella’s thoughts, but that’s because after she becomes a vampire they figure out she has a “shield” power which makes her immune to vampires with powers to effect the mind.

She had thoughts, he was just blocked from reading them.

  • I’m not doubting your experience, but I’m curious about the paw damage from scratching? What does that look like?

My currently senior cat I adopted several years ago had been previously declawed. While I’d never have it done, we haven’t had any behavioral issues and I haven’t noticed any mobility issues or harm to his paws as he does continue to try to scratch surfaces. On the other hand, the cat we adopted last year had been picked up on the streets of another city as a roughly 2yo intact male. We got him a couple weeks after he was fixed. While he’s been a great addition, he’s far more mouthy in a playful manner, but definitely reacts with his teeth before claws. Just wondering how much is clawed/declaw vs individual personality.

  • You’re obviously getting a lot of specific nutritional advice regarding what to eat, avoid, and how to behave.

My biggest recommendation is to find support in creating a healthy relationship with food. No individual or category of food is “bad” but our behaviors and views can support or sabotage our progress.

I highly recommend the podcasts In Moderation and Showing Up Anyway with Coach Adam. Also social media - I know they have accounts across platforms but on YouTube look for The Plant Slant, ScottyKFitness, Adam Wright Fitness, and Hybrid Calisthenics.

Most people can force themselves into a box and create a habit for a period of time, but making long term changes stick needs healthy support and education.

The cup is about 70% filled with ice before the drink goes in. I work in hospice and drive around to patients homes all day. I’ll occasionally hit McDonald’s in the morning as I start my day (bacon, egg and cheese bagel with a large coke zero sugar.) Unless my car is getting hot in the middle of summer, that drink will last about 4 hours with some ice left over. If it’s hot enough out to melt faster, well, I’m probably drinking it faster anyway because it’s hot out.
