After 6 months of dating I told my boyfriend I loved him last night while cuddling, and this was his reaction . He said immediately after I said it :”awww that’s sweet, wow okay-that’s something and you really caught me off guard”. I guess I thought he would say it back more than not doing so. The whole night he was cuddling me , being lovey dovey and seemed happy I said it. But just never said it back. A little backstory of our relationship. We met on a dating app and he asked me to be official after 3 months of talking phase. We’ve done a lot of things together as a couple including me going to a family vacation with him and his family last week. He’s had two girlfriends prior to me years ago back in college, and told them both he’s loved them like 4 months in. I fell hard for him and in love and decided to bite the bullet and say it . Anyone else had experience similar or want to chime in if their partner eventually said it ? And dealing with partners that are insecure , relationship trauma , etc
