Even without having built my house, I’m so old that many of my belongings are over 20y old, and have been in my possession for that long.
The bed that my father has built for my wife and me some 30 years ago. My father sleeps in his grave now. My wife and I still sleep in this bed.
I have my grandparents cookware.
That pyrex and fireking stuff is legendary.

Same here, it would be quicker to say what’s newer than that. All the new shit broke so there’s not that much left.
I have swiss army knife, it’s 19 years old so not quite 20, i use it everyday. I take it on every longer journey and there’s virtually no situation where it doesn’t help in some way… even if it’s the silly toothpick, I’m always happy to have it.
I still use a stepladder that my parents bought (used) in the '90s.

It’s wild to me that some people have space for a grand piano in their house! I don’t think it would fit in any room we have. Heck, it wouldn’t even fit through the door to get it inside in the first place.
The legs get dismantled and it’s turned sideways to fit in.

I’ve an old high end set up from probably the 80s or 90s but haven’t gotten it to work with these stupid 3.5 mm jacks yet. I bought an adapter but it doesn’t work right because everything is defective now. I’m using a little bluetooth speaker like an asshole while I have a high end stereo system going unused here.
A wall clock that was gifted to my grandparents on their marriage anniversary, and I’ve been fighting everyone in the house to keep it.
That clock is close to 40 years old, and still is functional. It’s a simple clock made in Germany. No protective glass or a seconds hand. Just a plain clock that has turn brown over time. Everyone in my home thinks it’s trash. I think it’s an engineering marvel.
I thought you meant you were competing over who gets to be the owner, but no. Keep fighting that good fight! Perhaps inviting your household to its 40th birthday will win hearts and minds.
My first Costco purchase was 19 years ago, my Philips 47” LCD TV is still alove and kicking and has outlived 2 other TVs we have had in that time.
