I read a blog post once about that. If I recall, it made the argument that conservatism is fundamentally about hierarchy and abuse. Child abuse is about hierarchy and abuse. It’s thus not surprising they go together.
The blog was more sophisticated than my memory of it, of course.

I was going to comment this. I keep seeing people arrested for pedo behavior but sentencing is a whole other piece that isn’t as headline grabbing.

I find a tiny flicker of hope in the suggestion there’s an element in the police force that still does go after these child rapists, despite their GOPedophile connections.
