      Wouldn’t they be 15-17 give or take? They look a bit upwards, but then, sudden onset desert life might do that.

        The effects of stress and malnutrition might also age them. I was just reading Isabella Bird’s travelogue of Kurdistan and Persia in 1890-1891. She remarks VERY often how prematurely aged the women look, so that’s been on my mind.
