I got a couple Suzuki Samurai’s but I want a Monte Carlo, my second car. I love them. Mine had a 283, built with a friend that died years later and that killed me as a person. But building out a Monte in New England in February is not a light task.
I miss you Joe, I am so glad I could say goodbye.

Not particularly; I just know I don’t want a massive touch screen and always-on surveillance, so I’ll probably end up with old cars until the world returns to sanity.
I was VERY excited about Bluetooth, but my CD collection is getting pretty respectable and I don’t think I’ve used BT for anything other than phone calls in which people complain about how terrible I sound.
I want 3 back. My 87 RX7 tops the list. I then would want my 08 MazdaSpeed 3. and as icing on the cake, the 2013 Genesis 3.8.
Those 3 were amazing cars. I regret not keeping the RX7 but my ex went and bought a new truck without asking and begrudgingly sold. Selling the Speed 3 allowed me to get the Genesis. Selling the Genesis got me my current vehicle, so I don’t regret selling those, but I miss having them because they were so fun to drive.
RX7’s are a blast to drive, its a glorified go cart on steroids! My neighbor has a Miata, another car on my short list hopefully.
I’ve wanted one for awhile, and even worked with a guy who raced them. I was so tempted to get with him on a modded street car but never got around to it.
Right on, always remember its never too late and the Mazda community is pretty dang big! Like all niche cars they have the nicest people to help ya get to your goal!

I keep an active watch out for an AMC Spirit. It was not a common car then and I don’t think many made it. Not interested in the AMX.
My mom had Hornet wagon, man that this was fun. Dookie brown paint and rusting out like a mofo. A buddy of mine had a Concord, damn that thing could offroad like a jeep!
Heck yeah, the classic Pullmans have such an appealing look. There are a couple here, parked at the old depot, that have been converted into shops. It would be so great, though, to have night train service return to the U.S. with modernized Pullman cars.
Edited to add: I want the 1948 Studebaker pickup I bought from my Grandfather back. Push button starter on the floor, 3 on the tree trans, flathead 6 that needed a valve job every year, no radio, an addon heater, and vacuum powered windshield wipers. That was the ride of a lifetime. It was my first, and I would give anything to have her back.
Those big, long sweeping fenders were the bomb.
I never had a Monte, but I did have a Cadillac Coup DeVille and a long hood Cougar. The Caddy was a real ride meant for open roads and long trips. It was like riding on a cloud. But man, was it hard on fuel. The Cougar was a blast to drive. And from behind the wheel, that hood went on forever.
Now, I just want to find another old International “H” tractor. I had a 1940 model on factory rubber that was dual fuel (gas and distillate). It was the first tractor I ever owned. I literally picked up all the engine pieces off the farmer’s junk pile and rebuilt it. I used it for many years.
Cadillacs are where its at for a road trip, my dad had a bunch over the years. Something about the smell of the leather and how soft the seats were was a dream.
It was like relaxing in a perfectly broken in recliner. Thank god they didn’t have info-tainment centers in the dash.

Ooh I was just thinking about this earlier. When I was around 20 years old (so, 2010ish) I bought a 1979 Ford F-150 off of my boss at the time. I absolutely loved that truck to death. It had a modest 4” lift kit and 35” Micky Thompson Baja Claw rubbers. It also had a propane conversion kit installed on the 351m so it was cheap as chips to run. I wheeled that thing to death (literally… it died after being flipped over an embankment with me and my buddies inside. No one got hurt somehow, thanks solid steel frame!)
If I ever win the lotto (which I won’t cause I don’t even play) I’m gunna buy a house with a garage big enough so I can rebuild the same truck. It’s gunna be expensive, especially because I live in Europe now, and even more so extremely impractical, but hey, a guy can dream, no?

Not a 1992 Suzuki Samurai. That specific Samurai (it doesn’t exist any more, my brother totalled it).
It was the fuel-injected engine instead of the carbureted. Could go anywhere, anytime. Got like 500 miles to the gallon.
The EFI’s were way more fun than the carbureted. Ive had a 1987, 1993, currently have a 1990 (oem restored) and a 1994 w/ a blown motor.
They wheel like a dream. And your right that little gas tank could take half way around the world before you needed a refill!
Oh man I remember in the late 90s when gas was like a $1 a gallon I could fill up the Samurai for $10 and it would last like 3 weeks.

I’m often reminded of my Geo Tracker and think “I can fix him”. It just wasn’t the right time to have a rusted-out, holey-framed, bad-on-the-highway vehicle with basically neither cargo nor passenger capacity. But there’s something special and forgotten about having a Miata-length vehicle of any kind.
1991 Ford Escort GT. A slightly better version of my brother’s first car, complete with a punchy stick shift and an engine that can last over 500k miles with basic care.
I have no idea of if it would be reliable or not, but assuming it to be 100% reliable in this fantasy and that I had a place to park it.
An 80s convertible BMW or Mercedes Benz, with an automatic gearbox, and integrated carplay.
I love the double circular headlights of the BMW style at the time…
Then we have the gorgeous 450SL from Mercedes…
These are well before my time, I only got my license at 35 back in 2022…
If I had the time, space and money, I’d want three cars, my current 2021 Seat Leon FR PHEV Hatchback, a classic convertible BMW/MB from the 80s or so, and a modern Suzuki Jimny

In the US a Hilux is a rarity. Port of Richmond I can get them some times. I would rather get a BRDM.
I still own all but two of the cars I’ve ever owned. Those two, a Ford Aerostar and a Hyundai Accent, were objectively not special but I kinda miss them anyway.
