hey this is cool but how does one install the u.s. keymap?
many broken manual typewriters later i ended up with a late model japanese hermes baby.
i’m really liking the drones/textures in re 1986.2006.2026
do you make these on computer e.g. supercollider/puredata or modular/synthesizer?thanks. it’s a mishmash of different sources, some being sound collages made with cassette decks in the early 1990s. some of it was existing stuff imported to garage band on an ipad and then adding layers of instruments played on glass with my fingers. some were new field recordings massaged in audacity (lots of reverb). and that is a shofar on track 1.
sequel to this: https://inri.net/archive/2008/07/05/1986.2006/
oh yeah one of them is made out of a 2004 track built in fruity loops and layered with live instruments in adobe audition. there’s probably some other stuff in there too.
really cool, thanks for sharing
love drone/fieldrecording/concrète stuff
anything with texture, ya know?i fucked up
sweet
no it was a really bad mistake and i should be banned from this website for explaining it here
I wish I knew. my biggest gripe with the czech layout is no apostrophe, so one has to use the ´ accent instead.
It’s weird it has both . and ! but no '.
and "
but ’ does not exist in czech.
It makes sense to have ". On authentic american typewriters, . and ’ are typed in the same position to form !. I supposed czechoslovakians would make slanty !'s, like in comic books. https://stuartngbooks.com/cdn/shop/products/74292BD7-5A3B-4748-AAFB-6B9AFD7BC8B5.jpg?v=1705547244

I also just noticed there is both 0 and O, both of which look exactly the same.
August content challenge: Create content only with the typewriter.
That might get old very quickly… But I kind of like this challenge.
