Power hungry oligarchs/dictators…every fucking time betraying the foundational values!
I have never understood the disconnect between leadership and party. It never fails, once leadership, fuck party. Maybe the collective needs a leader, not a politician.
Maybe the collective doesn’t need a leader at all.
Very clever. We are now talking about two different things.
But why did you bring up the other thing?
Sneaking in the “leftist and Soviet are the same thing” crap there, I see.
WTF are you talking about? Charlie Brown isn’t Soviet.
Maybe I was confused, but with the widespread proliferation of tankies on fedi, I am not ashamed.
You should be, at least enough to understand why you were wrong. If you take a look on Charlie Brown’s shirt, there’s a flag. The anarchist flag, which are leftists. Leftists that have been regularly slaughtered and oppressed by ML and tankies. And yet, tankies lament the lack of left unity as if they did nothing to destroy it.
I was, until now, unfamiliar with the anarchist flag. Thank you for teaching me!
I will never feel shame for the opportunity to learn something new.
Good on you, that is an excellent attitude. And yes, I sensed that your heart was in the right place. It’s certainly not a crime to not be familiar with the anarchist flag. It’s not something you see regularly hoisted on the threat of violence by a nation.
I was, until now, unfamiliar with the anarchist flag.
Ooh, education time!
There are actually quite a few anarchist flags. (Not an exhaustive list; just some examples. Ignore that yellow one. That’s for anarcho-capitalism, which is NOT real anarchism, and not even leftism.)
The one I used in the meme is for anarcho-socialism or anarcho-communism, and is one of the more common and recognizable ones. My personal favorite is just the pure black flag of straight-up anarchism, as I feel it mocks the absurdity of having countries and flags in the first place. Plus it’s kind of badass. But in a meme, the red and black is more recognizable as a flag and not, like, some weird censorship bar.
Just a convenient and widely recognized symbol to represent the authoritarian left.
Maybe I could have used something more technically correct, but then a lot of people wouldn’t be able to tell what it was supposed to represent. (And besides, I’ve yet to talk to a single auth-left person who doesn’t idolize the Soviets.)
