The vote system is different. If two people upvote its 2, then if someone downvotes, it’ll become 1. It can be negative.
Why tho?
It means the same ?
Also. At one point in time , thumbs down were visible on YouTube .
Also Facebook used to have a thumbs down too.
They got rid of it and replaced it with the 5 or so reaction emojis.
Cause it’s tricky when someone is like “my cat died” and then people like it.
Also. For FB, the reaction option is great for them because it helps them see what posts are most polarized. And it helps them psychologically profile people to manipulate them. So it’s a win win for Facebook shareholders.
How is that same? It doesn’t show only upvotes and downvotes. It shows both like there are 17 downvotes in this post, but there are some upvotes too. By this method I can get the idea of how it is, by the current situation, you can’t see the dislikes in youtube, but by my suggestion, it is visible in a common number which is cumulative of upvotes and downvotes.
Honestly I’m still not sure why you need both numbers ?
I mean I get that it could show polarizing opinions. But ultimately you know the sum score.Maybe the sum score could be negative.
