Why?
&
What is it’s activist about it?
I am only curious, because I truly do not see it, as activism, more fun than anything. I am a pretty serious person, who takes why I am risking being a activist extremely serious; not that those in these things are not, just do not know.
Because those on the other side are dressed in paramilitary riot gear. They’re trying to look like the badass who’s taking down some “dangerous protesters”. These brilliant protesters are forcing ICE to square up against brightly colored children’s animal characters. It makes ICE look ridiculous to take it all so seriously.
Okay, that is a good one, but is not The Federal Army (to me that is a lot more on the nose) doing that all by themselves? I mean I have seen these BLANKING Brown Shirts (any reader that does not get the reference, DuckDuckGo & a real Left talker & ask them) turned around by stronger & more numbers, but less armed activists.
Then there is the question of how activist effective is it, I am not sure it is. While a lot of people are out, by USAn standards, not enough. So making the point you are pointing-out has not drove-out enough people, for activism I mean.
Fascism lives and dies by propaganda and aesthetics. Watching a goon squad attacking someone dressed in a happy little costume damages their brand and make them look like what they are…goons.
I agree it is a horrible image (truth, for us) for them, but it takes people in costumes for their image problems? That is not good enough opinion of members of our species, that I disagree with is required. If it takes that, then the person it took that to happen is too far lost to The Capitalism side (playing off of ‘StarvWar’s Dark Side) to make positive difference.
Should people actually care enough that they react without the protesters needing to resort to this method? Absolutely.
Sadly, apathy is the default position of most. They don’t think, or care to think, that this could happen to them so they should fight to make sure it’s nipped in the bud early (let alone that even if it would never affect them that they should, for the sake of others, stop them because that’s the right thing to do. But no, the majority let it fester, put their head in the sand and let the problem grow until it’s too late and now they are victims too.
I am a lot more positive about the average & non-Rich-Super Rich Economic Classes/Owners people.
Plus nothing is worse for anyone’s image to do anything wrong to Elementary age kid & that has happen multiple times, in both terms.
The fascist podcasters that run the American regime lost the public relations (peacetime propaganda) war in Portland Oregon because it was such a bad look to watch a regime sanctioned paramilitary force physically assult and violate the constitutional rights of someone dressed in an inflatable frog costume.
The federal invasion force known as ICE still has a large presence in Portland even though it was reduced, but you won’t see the regime posting about it.
The inflatables specifically proved to be adequate protection against CS gas and other chemical weapon munitions that these poorly trained volunteers have been using in American communities.
Also just because you disagree with the methods doesn’t mean the actions are counterproductive.
All resistance against tyranny is good. Active resistance, even peaceful action is more productive than inaction.
Authoritarians need the obedenence of the people, we should not give it to them willingly.
If that motivates you, strongly, like this reply indicates (it is The Internet), then it works.
I have been next to them, no way are the costumes like gas masks.
Also, volunteers are not paid & ‘The Crazy Don’s Mob Enforcers* are being paid, though yes, some receive no training. It depends, that is why I created this thread, there are activists campaigns that are waste of time (one location & no representatives in as many locations as possible, getting activism up & running there) or just money grabs, think of most of the huge & popular organizations (fill everyone’s E-Mail accounts & mailboxes) more focused on donations & communications, then action. Both are pet peeves (SP?) of mine. So yes, it definitely depends.
By the with rest of this you are talking to the choir, as they say. I never said anything opposite of it!
All active/putting one’s body on the line resistance is awesome, I could not agree more with you on that. Where disagree that implying peaceful protest is lesser than reacting physically to the Mob Enforcers*.
*- I have decided this is more apt. way to label the gang (my second choice) of goons he is using, my former use of federal army. ICE just not accurate enough, they doing more than what was ever made for, affecting people who not immigrants.
Again, we need all types of action.
If we only have peaceful action in the face of tyranny, I doubt anything will change.
I advocate for peace, and I do not want to see blood in the streets. However we are already seeing blood in the streets. I think, without threat of real force there will not be negotiation or surrender.
Learn about India’s revolution against the biggest military country, at the time, before WW II. Then there is MLK Jr. campaigns for civil rights & later a lot more, against again, then the biggest military country & the Malcom X changed approach over his shortened life, again, campaigns for civil rights & later a lot more, against again, then the biggest military country. MLK Jr. was a lot more successful, than Malcom X, before Malcom X’s change, not talking about their speeches or anything like that. I love both of their speeches, more so at the end both ofbtheir shortened lives.
Another perfect example- Heck, South African leader for our species Rights for his people, & I would argue then all people, Nelson Mandela (SP?) went from violence to peaceful & changed from failing to succeeding. Thanks to the hugely important upper hand, especially, with those that have yet to commit & are physically outside looking in.There are more, but not needed, One reacts to violence has lost the hugely important upper hand, especially, with those that have yet to commit & are physically outside looking in.
These are excellent examples, let’s look closer at them.

The Royal Indian Navy mutiny involved 10,000 sailors in 56 ships and shore establishments. This show of defiance from within the worlds best navy at the time really shocked much of Britain. Soon after, negotiations happened with Gandhi. Some historians argue that without this mutiny, negotiations would have never taken place.

The Deacons for Defense and Justice was a Black American self-defense group. In the summer of 1965 they had violent struggles with the Ku Klux Klan.
According to historian Annelieke Dirks:
Even Martin Luther King Jr.—the icon of nonviolence—employed armed bodyguards and had guns in his house during the early stages of the Montgomery bus boycott in 1956. Glenn Smiley, an organizer of the nonviolent and pacifist Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR), observed during a house visit to King that the police did not allow the minister a weapon permit, but “the place is an arsenal.”[2]

the African National Congress started as a peaceful resistance and then decided it was no longer possible to achieve its goals peacefully. A lot of blood was spilt in the name of the ANC until their goals were achieved.
We can disagree on tactics, but let’s stay true to facts.
I will ask you this- over time, what peaceful organization, succeeds or fails, stays peaceful?
Even ‘The Black Panthers’ who really was just for imagine & defense, had empty shotguns, that freaked-out ‘The Rep. ‘Crazy Capitalist’ Party’s former CAPITALIST/RACEST god & then Cali. Gov. Ronald Reagan.
Racist historians! It was The Indians peaceful & long campaign. Gandhi was no way perfect, ‘Democracy Now’ educated me slept (literally, from all we know) in the same bed, with his much younger teen female relative.
Yes, what was peacefully created in South Africa, failed after the leader died & others took over, like his wife.
I recommend searching ‘Democracy Now’ & other ‘Free Speech’s shows’ websites’ archives, ‘F S’ is a Independent, no Rich-Super Rich Economic Classes’/Owners’ money allowed & almost completely Political Left media outlet, on everything that broadcasts except lamestream media channels.
