“In total, the Company spent an aggregate amount of approximately $125 million to repurchase approximately 1.4 million shares of its own common stock at artificially inflated prices from April 2022 to July 2022,” according to the plaintiffs, who are being represented by Sarah Maneval and Saadia Hashmi of The Brown Law Firm in New York City. Affiliated local counsel is Higgins, Cavanagh, and Cooney.

“In total, this caused the Company to overpay for repurchases of its own stock by approximately $55.9 million," the lawsuit maintains.

Sorry, but can I discuss the name?

I’ve known people with various last names last this. One of my highschool teachers was ‘cox’, when we asked her why she didn’t change it, she said she was proud of her heritage. Someone asked “so, you’re proud of cox?” And everyone laughed.

My Dad works with a guy whose last name is ‘Hiscock’ and I shit you not, his first name is Paul. I didn’t believe my Dad when he first told me, so one day when we’re in the car together, he calls up Paul, and gets his answering machine, and sure enough “you’ve reached Paul Hiscock” (The joke here is that it sounds like ‘pull his cock’).

I simply don’t accept that these people should expect others to be mature when handling their cocks names.

It’s so weird that years of having people champion other game systems never made me interested enough to branch out myself, but a single change in ownership and leadership decisions made me drop the game. Just goes to show how important customer good will is. I was actively being advertised to by friends and people in the hobby space, but what did them in was their own decisions. I’m sure some people never cared or noticed, but I’m happy to see I made the right choice. Sad to see a beloved part of my hobby be destroyed, but from the ashes etc etc. Sorry to now be the person in a DnD space suggesting trying other games, but there really is just so many others out there. These people are using your money to commit financial crimes to enrich themselves.

It was the OGL fuckery a few years ago for me, but the huge drop in quality of released material didn’t help. Spelljammer 5e was a joke.

At this point the only reason to stay with the system is nostalgia or stubbornness. There are better systems for any use case.

The OGL was what got me and my other forever DM buddy to drop D&D. He picked up PF2e and I went SWADE. It’s a double-edged sword to be proven right regularly with their actions. We started on 5th edition, which I regularly told people was basically what everyone wanted 4th edition to be, and then it just like fell apart. It was a system that could have been fixed, really it just needed some balance changes. But they decided to make it a corporate problem .

That’s what got me to switch too. I found a really great group and we have a blast together so it ended up being really good for my gaming experience anyway.

I will admit to still running one shots on occasion when there’s someone missing, but it hits different now that I’ve had experience with other systems. I still feel the most comfortable throwing together a one shot with no prep in DnD, but even so I can manage without it just fine.

how important customer good will is

I say corporate branding and subsequent brand worship, but potato potato. So many games better than D&D. My first ever rpg I played as a player was FFG’s Star Wars and I had more fun in that than all of my DMing 5e before that. Never will gm D&D and haven’t since 2019
