Why not create & use this feature in a offense Play:

Put a skill player at close to one of sidelines as possible, & yards off The LOS,
Put a best open field blocking player, like best FB, as close to the same sideline as possible & in front of the skill player,
QB then checks:
If there are 2 or more defenders (most likely includes at least 1-CB or DB) lined-up on LOS against the skill player & best open field blocking player & Defense lined up to stop the run, then QB decides to look for another option, if other options are covered, then calls skill player & best open field blocking player to run pass routes. After snap, fake pass to the skill player,
&
Added to that, if there is an additional player (most likely Safety) over the top & Defense lined up to stop the run, if so, then QB decides to look for another receiver option,

& If defense is in pass prevention only defense, then handoff to RB or runs the ball himself.
