Today’s agenda; wine, weed, and videogames. And some baking of course.
This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.
Is that Linux mint in the background?
Yes it is.
Nice. Honestly I’m yet to try Linux mint properly but I might try it out soon since I’m getting sick of windows 11 hogging 80% of the ram constantly on one of my laptops.
The only computer in my house with windows is the corporate assigned work computer.
Honestly I wish I could say the same, although it does suck that company laptops commonly are only allowed windows by the employer, even for jobs that require only web based tools or software that works flawlessly on Linux.
Sure looks like it.
Real fucking bad lately! I’m still sick, mother was recently diagnosed with an incurable disease, and everything in the universe is going to shit! The cat is healthy at least but I just want to curl into a fucking ball and explode so hard it resets everything a few thousand years.
I rearranged my desk! By which I mean I moved my pen/stylus from the little circular base it comes with to the loop made to hold it on the tablet :3… takes longer to get it out, but also now it’s not in the way of my 2nd screen… might change it back tho, not sure
(I know, very exciting lol /s)
I have a feral cat I’ve been trying to indoor, and this person offered to help pay for their medical bills while we try to find her a home. They were supposed to visit today, but dropped last night they’ll also be bringing a man I don’t know as well. I told them not to bring people I haven’t talked to to my house without asking first and they said they were insulted and ceased contact with me. The whole thing sucks :(
Laundry day! Then submit some git forge issues, flip a coin and choose between working on a projects terrible build system or getting my hodge podge of portable hardware into a Harvester cluster again.
Sunday is ttrpg day for me. Today I’m running Vampire: The Masquerade (V20/V5 + house rules hybrid I call V25; also apropos since the game started in Jan 2025). In the wake of last game’s politcal/economic problems (that’s right, I managed to inject economics into my vampire game, and in a way that is not as boring as it may sound), today the group will be discovering more about the (literally) dark secrets held by the NPC member of their group.
I’ve been struggling to open the jar of sauerkraut for the past 10 minutes. These things are not designed for women. That’s all.
run hot tap water over the lid. Not so hot you’ll shock it and crack the glass, just generally more than warm. 10 seconds, then open it.
Slip a butter knife under the lid a little to release the seal.
Americans (as indicated by the date format) always have such sketchy-looking power outlets.
The house was built in 1967 and we have not updated the electrical system yet. It is on a very long list of to dos.
