The murder/rape/mutilation of a 15 y/o girl happened in 2007, at which time Autumn (killer) identified as a man.
Autumn was diagnosed with gender dysphoria in 2014.
She has requested to be moved to women’s prisons, and back men’s prisons multiple times since then.
Most recently, when in a women’s prison, Autumn played with her genitals and buttocks in a sexually suggestive manner in front of other incarcerated women, who felt uncomfortable and petitioned for her transferal.
Autumn experiences harassment in male prisons.
The system expresses difficulty finding a place that can accommodate her.
She is clearly not well.Multiple levels of sad. Sad for the inmates that were harassed, sad for the victim, and especially sad that a system that handles millions of people can’t figure out how to handle trans people.
I agree, this incarcerated person is suffering and perpetuating an entire system of interconnected problems. I imagine personalized correction can be the most positive approach.
