The “Do not display posts with which I have already interacted (opened/upvoted/downvoted)” setting can be incredibly useful in general platform use but it can often create a lot of confusion at the same time.
Specifically, I may be looking for an older post of my own but be unable to find it because I’ve read it before.
(I say this like its a hypothetical but this has been my biggest issue/annoyance the entire time I’ve been on piefed)
For me, the ideal solution would be to ignore this setting if you are on a profile (for both posts and comments) or when viewing the comments of a post you made yourself (assuming its the same setting that also hides comments youve interacted with).
The web app does not hide read posts on profiles. Are you using a mobile app?
Im on Boost. It functions as described with Lemmy but not Piefed so ig I assumed it was a piefed thing. Ill report the issue in that community instead.
Ill verify the comments vanishing thing is the app as well and report back.
